Ranjan Sharma has been practicing photography for past 16 years, and this long duration has not deviated him from his keen enthusiasm to learn more and more. He shoots everything under the sun. May it be an ad-campaign, fashion, food, interiors, portraits, landscapes & products etc. His diverse interest in various types of photography is his strongest point, and this keeps his enthusiasm alive.
Working with agencies like MUDRA, LINTAS, O&M, VERMILLION, his contribution has been apperciated for ad-campaigns of LG electronics, WOODLAND, TIMEX, SAMSUNG, MODI ZEROX, KASMIA JEWELS, DWARKA GEMS, SURANA'S, SOFFI'S FURNISHING to name a few. In 1996 he added a new dimension to his career, when he took up the challenge to teach photography to young students interested in this field.
This brought about an association with KODAK India Ltd., TIMES OF INDIA, J.D.INSTITUTE OF FASHION & SCHOOL of FOTOTECHNIK where he shares his knowledge & experience with his students. In 2005 he layed down the foundation of web based training LIGHTZONE DIGITAL IMAGING INSTITUTE which was his dream & Lightzone now offers digital imaging courses which are available to the students all over the world online via web.
Photography teaching gives him a tremendous sense of achievement as he claims, "photography to me is an art of perception, what I perceive is, what I conceive, and what I conceive is what I give birth to". So I constantly need to make my perception stronger and stronger, and teaching gives me just that. "In 2000 his interest were keenly drawn to the digital imaging & he ventured into an unknown territory & since then he has been shooting digital images only, leaving the conventional film photography.
In his words I do miss the darkroom, but I have found a better way to deal with this in my digital workflow. Digital has deep potential & commercial repercussions, but at the same time can load the photographer with huge advantage of knowledge. |
